A Premium Breakfast In LAX Delta Sky Club
I’m on the final portion of my SAS Million Mile Bonus trip, with a quick trip to Mexico that I’m sharing about real-time style.
After arriving at LAX before the sun rose, Augustine and I headed to the Delta Sky Club, where I had access thanks to my SAS EuroBonus Gold status. There, we enjoyed a very premium breakfast…
As usual, the worthless machines do not recognize my status and wanted to charge me for entry…but a kind agent at the desk typed away (for close to two minutes…seemed a lot more complicated than when oneworld and Star Alliance flyers use their elite status for lounge access) .
But inside, I was seriously impressed…as I always am when I visit a Delta lounge. I mostly fly American and United and have lounge membership with American. I’m inside a lot of United and American lounges and they too have improved greatly over the years…both are absolutely the best they’ve been in the 20 years I’ve been flying.
Delta, however, takes its lounge to an even higher level, at least at LAX…and offers amenities that are near and dear to my heart.
First, an omelet bar…we’ve come a long way from the days of cheese and crackers. I enjoyed a very delicious omelet.
Second, freshly squeezed orange juice…a delight of living in Southern California.
Third, fresh strawberries…
Yes, the coffee was from Starbucks, but when it is 7:00 am and you are two hours overdue for your first cup coffee, even that worked well.
Throw in the beautiful terrace and I do concede that the Delta Sky Club experience is superb and I’d rate this lounge as the best lounge yet that I’ve visited on this entire trip around the world.
CONCLUSION
I’m told that Delta Air Lines is the most premium US carrier and while I do not fly Delta quite often enough to make that judgment one way or another, I do know that the Sky Club at LAX is one of my favorites and I greatly appreciated being able to tank up here before our flight to Los Cabos.
