Economy Class Breakfast On Qatar Airways

By Leila

Each week, my Meal of the Week feature examines an airline meal from my travels over the years. This may be a meal from earlier in the week or it may be a meal served over a decade ago.

This week’s Meal of the Week explores what economy class breakfast looks like on Qatar Airways.

We go back to January 2015 for this flight, the last time I flew economy class on Qatar. It was a very special flight indeed; the first commercial flight of Airbus A350. I decided to join the flight at the very last minute or else I would have booked a cheap Cairo to Frankfurt via Doha ticket like so many bloggers in the forward cabin did. By the time I bought a ticket just a few days before the flight, only economy class was left.

No matter, it was still a thrilling flight to be part of.

After takeoff, breakfast service began. My breakfast included a croissant, strawberry yogurt, sliced fruit, orange juice, and a main course of a cheese omelet with a hash brown, cooked tomato slice, mushrooms, and chicken sausage.

Perhaps the FAs were still figuring out the new aircraft’s ovens because the meal was not served as warm as I would have liked. I appreciated that Qatar used real silverware.

The other two breakfast choices were pancakes or an Indian vegetarian breakfast. You can read my full of the flight here.

CONCLUSION

I generally don’t find economy class to be anything special on Gulf carriers but do expect generally better presentation and often more choice.
