International Transit In Seoul Incheon Terminal 2: Luxe And Efficient
I’m sharing in real-time style about my SAS EuroBonus SkyTeam Million Mile challenge this week. Click here for background and route information.
Our transit and layover in Terminal 2 of Seoul Incheon could not have been easier and was everything an international transit should be…
Seoul Incheon (ICN) International Transit In Terminal 2
As a loyal Star Alliance flyer, my prior trips to Seoul Incheon have been in Terminal 1, home to carriers like Asiana and United Airlines. Recall, this was my first-ever trip on Korean Air and so I got to explore Terminal 2 on this trip and was very impressed by the facilities and the entire experience.
After arriving from Shanghai, we proceeded to a green-marked transit area, where our boarding passes were scanned, passports checked, and we cleared security. It was very simple…the whole process took two minutes (take that Vietnam and Indonesia…). No crazy bureaucracy, no long lines…
Had we been transiting to Terminal 1, there was a separate transit area that also would have spared us from actually entering South Korea.
And then we stepped out into Terminal 2…wow:
What a beautiful terminal! It was modern, clean, and quiet…no annoying loud music or boarding announcements, with signs clearly marking the way toward lounges, restaurants, and boarding gates.
I know people have mixed feelings about Incheon Airport, but I quite like it (even Terminal 1) and I especially like Terminal 2.
Now it was time to find the KAL Lounge nad some good coffee ahead of our long flight to Los Angeles…
