Makeup Artist’s Viral Meltdown On Southwest Flight Is Anything But Glamorous
A woman was removed from a Southwest Airlines flight at New York LaGuardia Airport this week after a shocking meltdown onboard that included kicking, spitting, screaming, and physical assaults against fellow passengers and crew.
Drunk Southwest Airlines Makeup Artist Attacks “Fat” Seatmate
Graphic video shows a drunken passenger attacking her seatmate and other passengers onboard a Southwest Airlines flight at LGA. The passenger was identified by police as 32-year-old Leanna Perry, a New York City-based artist and fashion illustrator. She was scheduled to fly from LaGuardia (LGA) to Kansas City (MCI) on Tuesday morning aboard Southwest Airlines.
Before the flight even departed the gate, Perry began behaving erratically. Multiple video clips posted online show her screaming profanities at another female passenger, accusing her of various misdeeds while threatening violence.
The situation escalated quickly. She called her seatmate a “fat *ss b*tch” and then attacked her. Perry refused to calm down, despite intervention by fellow passengers and Southwest Airlines crew members. Eventually, she was physically restrained using zip ties. Even then, she continued to lash out, spitting at passengers, kicking at airline personnel, and cursing loudly.
Once the aircraft returned to the gate, Port Authority Police officers boarded the plane and removed Perry, who reportedly continued resisting arrest. According to the criminal complaint, she kicked one officer and spit at another as she was being led off the plane.

Not A January 6 Rioter
While Perry’s name and image quickly went viral, with some claiming she participated in the January 6 insurrection, there is no credible evidence linking her to the Capitol riots. Her name does not appear on any DOJ arrest lists or court filings related to January 6. These rumors appear to have originated on X/Twitter and were amplified without fact-checking.
In reality, Perry is a commercial artist who has worked with brands like MAC, Adidas, and Maybelline. Her Instagram account (which has since gone private) features illustrations, fashion sketches, and photos from her life in New York.
Legal Consequences
Perry was charged with multiple counts, including:
- Resisting arrest
- Attempted assault on a police officer
- Harassment
- Disorderly conduct
She was released pending a court appearance scheduled for September 3, 2025.
CONCLUSION
While passenger meltdowns are sadly no longer uncommon, the level of aggression and disruption here was exceptional. Kicking, spitting, and berating other passengers before a flight even pushes back is beyond over the top.
Perry may not be a domestic terrorist, but her conduct alone is disturbing enough. And she’s lucky I was not on the flight…I’d like to think that if she would not let go of my wife’s hair, I’d use any level of force necessary to get her off. She got off light and I hope she rots in prison and faces a huge civil lawsuit for her assault.
