United Airlines Adds Evacuation Flights From Florida

As Florida braces for Hurricane Milton, United Airlines is trying to get as many folks out as possible and has added several extra flights out of a trio of Flordia airports today.

Ahead Of Hurricane Milton, United Airlines Adds Evacuation Flights From Florida

As Hurricane Milton strengthens as it approaches the Florida Coast, airlines are prearing for airport clsoures ahead of the storm, which is expected to make landfall on Wednesday.

Tampa (TPA) ceased operations beginning Tuesday at 9:00 am ET
Sarasota (SRQ) ceased operations beginning on Tuesday at 4:00 pm ET
Orlando (MCO) will cease operations beginning on Wednesday at 8:00 am ET
Ft Myers (RSW) operations will be canceled on Wednesday and Thursday

United tells Live And Let’s Fly:

All United flights out of Tampa, Orlando, Fort Myers and Sarasota are full for sevearl days
United has added 18 extra flights and added larger aircraft on four additional flights
United has booked 25,000 customers from those airports on those days, including 2,750 on extra flights

3034 > Houston (IAH) – MCO
3035 > MCO – IAH
3036 > MCO – Denver (DEN)
3037 > Washington (IAD) – Sarasota (SRQ)

3040 > ORD – Ft Myers (RSW)
3041 > RSW – ORD
3042 > MCO – ORD
3043 > ORD – MCO
3044 > MCO – Newark (EWR)

It also is upguaged from a Boeing 737-700 to 737-900 the following route:

2243 > SRQ – ORD
2612 > SRQ – EWR

United Airlines Hurrican Milton Travel Waiver

A travel waiver has been issued from additional airports:

You can reschedule your travel through October 19, 2024 and any change fees and/or fare differences will be waived (cabin of travel must remain the same)

American Airlines has also added flights.
