Barefoot Passenger Turns Delta Economy Cabin Into His Living Room

A poem to the man in seat 30C on a Delta 767 who felt the need to take off his shoes and socks, then place his feet on the bulkhead wall (and who was also wearing the style of short shorts that do not belong in a public place…

Delta coach, a crowded space,
Yet here, bare feet still find their place.
Shoes abandoned where they fall,
Scattered mess beneath it all

Toes exposed, a cabin crime,
A plague we’ve seen too many times.
Not socks, not slippers, not a care,
Just naked soles in stale cabin air.

Did no one teach this grown-up lad
That manners matter: this is bad?
Your mother’s couch? Perhaps, at best.
But not an aircraft filled with guests.

So once again I lift my pen,
To call out what we see, my friends:
Delta offers seats with style,
But some behave… quite feral and vile.

The scourge of bare feet on planes shows no sign of abating. Premium cabin or coach, shoes stay on, and feet stay down. Always. And to this lout: what a shame your mother never taught you any common courtesy. I hope a flight attendant reminded this dumb chap that this wasn’t his bedroom…
