From American Airlines To Alcoholics Anonymous: AA Flight Attendant’s Drunken Meltdown At DFW
A uniformed American Airlines flight attendant reportedly showed up drunk for work at DFW Airport, assaulted a colleague, shouted incoherently, and had to be wheeled away by police in restraints after his pants fell down…
Drunk American Airlines Flight Attendant Rushes Gate Before Pants Fall Down
An American Airlines flight attendant named “Chris” was arrested at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) after showing up intoxicated for duty and attempting to board a flight in an obviously impaired state. Police bodycam footage shows the man rushing the gate area, slurring his words, and needing to be restrained by officers after refusing to comply with commands.
As first reported by View From The Wing, the uniformed crew member appeared heavily intoxicated, reportedly shouting incoherently and pulling his pants up and down as officers approached. Police eventually placed a spit hood over his head and transported him in a restraint chair, a procedure designed for individuals actively resisting arrest.
During the conversation, he admitted to assaulting a gate agent and drinking a bottle and a half of Champagne on his way to work. His supervisor, who snatched his bag from him, also allegedly found several empty alcohol mini bottles inside.
The man was later charged with public intoxication and criminal mischief. You can watch the meltdown here:
While the footage, captured in May 2024 but only recently released, quickly went viral, there’s little humor in watching a crewmember in this condition. Alcohol dependency is a serious issue, and aviation is an industry with almost zero tolerance for it. FAA rules prohibit flight attendants from consuming alcohol within eight hours of duty, and some airlines set even stricter policies.
CONCLUSION
This was not a passenger meltdown or a viral TikTok stunt—it was a crewmember clearly in crisis. American Airlines is cooperating with law enforcement, but this flight attendant needs help… perhaps a transition from AA to AA (American Airlines to Alcoholics Anonymous). Flight attendants love to remind us that they are primarily here for our safety, but this case is a reminder that sobriety and safety go hand in hand in this business…this sad spectacle is a sobering reminder.
